Congratulations to Pocahontas Area Indians Girls Golf Coach Leon Johnson on being named the 2026 Twin Lakes Conference Girls Golf Coach of the Year!
Coach Johnson led PAC to an impressive 8-2 dual record, finishing tied for 2nd in the conference standings. At the 2026 Conference Meet Pocahontas Area finished 4th and placed two golfers in the top 12 — Camryn Allen (5th, 102) and Delaney Janssen (12th, 107).
Well deserved, Coach Johnson. Best of luck to the girls tomorrow as they travel to Rice Lake for Regional Action - Go Indians!

Congratulations to PAC senior Jack Gerdes on being selected for the prestigious Iowa Governor’s Scholar Program!
Jack was recognized alongside Iowa’s top academic senior students through this statewide honor presented by the Iowa High School Athletic Association, Kim Reynolds, and title sponsor Iowa Farm Bureau.
The annual recognition ceremony was held on Sunday, April 26 at the Iowa Events Center.
Students selected for this honor are chosen by their schools as the highest academic achievers among their senior class. Honorees receive a commemorative certificate and photo plaque recognizing their outstanding academic accomplishments.
Congratulations, Jack, on this tremendous achievement and for representing Pocahontas Area with excellence in the classroom!

⛳️ IAHSAA Boys Golf Sectional Update
Pocahontas Area finished 5th as a team at the IAHSAA Sectional Tournament hosted by Clarion-Goldfield-Dows at Clarmond Country Club with a team score of 350.
Leading the way for PAC was sophomore Karson Welander, who shot an 83 to place 6th overall individually and earn advancement to the 2A District Golf Meet.
Karson will compete Monday, May 18 at 10:00 AM at Carroll National Golf Club in Carroll. The meet will be hosted by Kuemper Catholic.
The top three teams from each sectional and district site advance, along with the top two individual golfers (plus ties) from non-qualifying teams.
Congratulations to Karson, Coach Darren Henrickson, and the entire PAC Boys Golf team on a great day and a strong season! ⛳️
