Yesterday we recognized Children's Grief Awareness Day, an important reminder that children experience loss and grief in their own unique ways.
Grief can show up differently in children than in adults. They may express their feelings through changes in behavior, difficulty concentrating at school, or by asking the same questions repeatedly as they try to make sense of their loss.
As a school community, we're committed to supporting all our students through difficult times. If your child is experiencing grief or loss, please know that we're here to help. Sometimes just knowing that caring adults are paying attention can make all the difference.
Let's take time today to listen, to be patient, and to remind the children in our lives that all their feelings are valid and that they're not alone. The HOSA club gave butterflies to students who have experienced loss and chose to be acknowledged.
