This week, our creative scientists are diving into their new Science Module: “Building Sculptures that Balance.” 🏗️

Students are exploring how art and engineering come together as they design, build, and test sculptures that balance in fun and surprising ways! They’re learning about stability, weight, and creativity — all while having a blast experimenting with their own designs. 🌟

We can’t wait to see their balanced masterpieces come to life! 💡🎉

🎉 Today we celebrated our Character Strong skill of the month ➡️Responsibility! 💪 Students who showed outstanding responsibility were nominated by their teachers! Our specials teachers also chose two students who went above and beyond in their classes showing a variety of skills or positive character traits. 👏 Our award winners got to play a fun game where they had to “be responsible” for their pizza box 🍕 and we kicked off our yearly Kids vs. Adults tradition! The current score: Adults 1, Kids 0. 😄 What an awesome way to wrap up the week and celebrate our students’ character and effort! 💙 #CharacterStrong #Responsibility #SchoolFamily

🌍✏️ Our 2nd graders wrapped up their EL module on Schools Around the World! They learned how schools can be different and similar! From boat schools to doorstep schools and everything in between! 🚤🏫📚 Today they proudly presented what they learned to our 6th graders, kindergarteners, and families. Red Ribbon Week is next week! Here are some fun activities we are doing each day and we even have a couple dress up days on Monday, Wednesday and Friday!

🎃🍂 Prep and Kindergarten had the best day at Twin Lakes Pumpkin Patch! The kids got to pick their own pumpkins, play in the corn, zip down the zip line, and enjoy so many fun fall activities! 🍁✨ So many smiles and so much laughter on this perfect fall field trip! 🚜🎃

The Pocahontas Area High School Cross Country Program hosted their Annual Youth Meet, with an awesome turnout of 39 runners competing across multiple age divisions!

📚 A big thank you to The Rotary Club for donating dictionaries to all of our 3rd grade students! Your generosity helps our students build a love for words and learning! 👏❤️🖤

📢 Reminder!!! There will be a 1-hour early out on Monday, October 28th and Wednesday, October 30th for conferences. ⏰ Students will be dismissed at 2:19 PM. 🗓️ Conferences will run from 3:00–7:00 PM. 🌋 Could a volcano pop up where you live? 🌋 Our 4th graders dove into this exciting question today! They mapped volcanoes around the world to look for patterns and clues to help them find the answer. 🔎🌎 Lots of great discussions, discoveries, and “aha!” moments as we explored Earth’s fiery features! 🔥🗺️✨

🤖🎨 Our young engineers had a blast learning all about robots this week! Students built their very own Art Bots — using markers for legs, a cup for the body, and a motor with a propeller to bring their creations to life! 🪫⚙️💡 They even learned about battery polarity and how to connect the wires correctly to make their bots move. Once their basic robots were buzzing, they let their creativity shine by decorating and personalizing each Art Bot. ✨🖍️ As a class, they teamed up to create a masterpiece of abstract art — completely made by their Art Bots! 🖼️🎨 Each student proudly signed their work, and the finished piece is now on display in the hallway for everyone to enjoy. 🩵🖌️ #STEMFun #CreativeKids #FutureEngineers #ArtAndScience
