DAY 2 - PAC Youth VB Camp. We had another GREAT day of Youth Volleyball Camp!  Campers were excited to return to the gym to learn more new drills and skills.  We still focused on passing and serving but introduced the mechanics of hitting as well.  Campers used tennis balls to learn wrist and arm rotation mechanics.  Campers practiced their 3 step approaches and upper body movements by throwing tennis balls over the net.  Grades 6th - 8th also hit live balls over the net as well.  Both sections ended the day with some competitive volleyball scrimmages.  The last day of camp is tomorrow.  We are excited to see the parents join us the last 45 minutes of each camp session to see what the girls have learned and to receive camp awards.

WOW!  Day 1 of Youth Volleyball Camp was Fantastic!  60+ girls were in attendance from grades 3rd - 8th grade.  The focus for Day 1 centered around the skills of passing and serving.  Campers were put into a mix of teams with the HS volleyball players as their coaches.  Several drills were run to demonstrate, model and apply proper techniques of passing and serving. We had a lot of fun using beachballs in a passing challenge and playing Feed the Dinosaur for a serving game.  Campers had to hit the dinosaur’s mouth (various hula hoops on the floor) to earn team points.  The younger kids played 6 on 6 to try to get a good pass to target, while the older kids had fun playing Wave and Queen of the Court.  Each session ended with campers receiving their t-shirt and a sweet ice cold treat. The HS coaching staff and HS volleyball players are looking forward to just as much fun tomorrow with our younger players!
