Ten Agronomy and Intro to Agriculture students along with other FFA members traveled to Rockwell City Thursday for Sub District Soil Judging. Paul Peterson, Camry Olson, and Brynn Kinkade placed 3rd overall as team.

Top 10 Individual Placings out of 87 Participants:
Paul Peterson-4th Place
Camry Olson- 7th Place
Brynn Kinkade- 8th Place
3rd place overall team

Pocahontas Team 2 and team 3 placed 18th and 21st overall respectively. Team 2 members included Mady Ahlrich, Cara Kerns, and Tate Kelly. Team 3 included Cora Ryan, Sawyer Storms, Mason Anderson and Dakota Mumford

FOOTBALL SCHEDULE CHANGE

Due to the potential for severe weather on Friday, the PAC vs. Emmetsburg varsity football game has been moved up one day.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17

KICKOFF: 7:00 PM

The game was originally scheduled for Friday, September 18 at 7:00 PM.

This change is being made proactively due to the potential for severe weather and to provide the best opportunity to safely complete the game.

Please make note of the schedule change and plan accordingly.

Yesterday, 28 students from Mrs. Hosek’s Intro to Ag and Animal Science Classes attended FFA Day at the Clay County Fair. There, they learned about leadership from a national FFA officer, competed in various career development events, and explored the fair. Many of our students placed individually and as a team in their events. We are proud of their work!

Results:
Team livestock Judging: Tied 10th out of 74 teams, 3rd beef class, 19th hogs class
Individual Livestock Judging: Kaylee Dirks- 13th of 257, Linnie Feilmeier- top 50, Ryan Hauswirth- top 100
Poultry Judging: 6th overall, 1st team in live judging, 3rd team in live judging
Poultry Judging Individual: Ashton Boysen- 1st live judging, 24th overall individual, Kolton Bindel- 2nd live judging, Levi Juilfs- 6th live judging, Jayden Olson- 7th live judging
Dairy Cattle: 9th overall
Milk Quality and Dairy Products Judging: 9th overall
Horse Judging: 14th overall

Shout out to Mr. Waller and Mrs. Feilmeier for coming along and helping make this day so successful!

PAC reviewed levy rates across comparable AEA school districts as part of its planning process. Even with the proposed #UnitedAsOne PAC Bond included, PAC's levy rate remains among the lowest of the districts compared. The chart shows PAC's current levy rate alongside the projected rate with this investment, in the context of regional comparisons.

Today, the Pocahontas Area community joins together to remember the lives forever changed and lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the courage of the first responders, military members, and ordinary Americans who stepped forward during one of our nation’s darkest days. We also remember the strength, compassion, and unity that followed as communities across our country came together.

On this day, we remember those we lost, recognize those who served, and express our gratitude to the men and women who continue to serve and protect our communities.

May we carry forward the spirit of kindness, courage, and unity that emerged in the days following September 11.
