Thank you to these gals from Wells Ag and their kids for joining us on High Five Friday! 🖐

🌟 Help Us Make Recess Even More Fun! 🌟
As many people are doing post holiday clean-outs, we wanted to invite you to consider donating items that could help make recess, both indoors and outdoors, more fun, active, and engaging for our elementary students.
If you come across items during your clean-out that you no longer use but are still in good condition, we would love to give them a second life at school!
Donations can be dropped off at the elementary office or sent with students. Thank you for supporting our students and helping make recess a time they look forward to every day.

Here are our December award winners!! Way to go PAC elementary students!

On Thursday, we found ourselves in a tricky situation as bad weather kept us safely in place until 7:30 pm. While it wasn’t how anyone planned to spend the evening, our top priority, always, was keeping our students safe, calm, and cared for. And thanks to an incredible team, we truly made the best of it.
Our students were fed (and well! 😊) with crispitos, chicken strips, and pizza, and the building quickly turned into a place of comfort, fun, and togetherness. Classrooms filled with Christmas movies, games, crafts, bracelet-making, face painting, and smiles. The gym echoed with laughter, movement, and joy. What could have been stressful became something special.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our administrators, Gina in the office, nurse Ashley, our teachers, associates, janitors, cooks, Jeff Halder, and our amazing police and fire departments. Every single person stepped up with patience, flexibility, and big hearts, working together to care for our kids as if they were your own.
Because of you, our students didn’t just stay safe, they felt safe. And in the middle of an unexpected evening, core memories were made: laughing with friends, cozy moments, and seeing firsthand what a strong, loving school community looks like.
Thank you for reminding us that even on the hardest days, this is a truly special place to be. ❤️🖤🏫✨#PACstrong

Dear PAC Elementary Families, Staff, and Students,
I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone for the remarkable way our school community came together during yesterday's unexpected blizzard. What could have been a frightening situation instead became a testament to the caring, resilience, and cooperation that defines PAC Elementary.
To our staff members, teachers, para educators, office staff, and custodians who stayed late into the evening, thank you for your dedication and calm presence. Your willingness to remain with our students until 7:45pm, well beyond your typical day, ensured that every child felt safe and cared for during this weather event.
To our food service team and those who helped coordinate meals for all of our buildings, thank you for making sure everyone was fed and comfortable during the extended stay.
To our bus drivers, words cannot adequately express our appreciation. Your skill, patience, and commitment to getting every student home safely in treacherous conditions demonstrated true professionalism and heart. We know the roads were difficult and the evening was long, but you persevered until each child was home.
To our students, you showed wonderful patience and adaptability during an unusual and long day. Your positive attitudes made all the difference.
And to our families, thank you for your understanding, communication, and trust as we navigated this challenging weather event together. Your support means everything.
Yesterday reminded us that PAC Elementary is more than a school, it's a community that looks out for one another, no matter what challenges come our way.
❤️🖤With gratitude and pride,❤️🖤
Mrs. Carlson
We have received notice from law enforcement that IT IS NOW SAFE to send remaining students home. We are allowing our students who drive to head out in a few minutes and then will be sending students on buses. PARENTS - PLEASE PLAN TO MEET YOUR BUS ROUTE STUDENTS AT THE BUS STOP IN THE NEAREST TOWN.
We will have a 2 hour late start tomorrow, Friday, December 19, 2025 for all Pocahontas Area Schools.

We will have a 2 hour late start tomorrow, Friday, December 19, 2025 for all Pocahontas Area Schools. At this time, we have sent our Laurens-Marathon HS/MS students on their bus and are asking all LM parents to plan to pick up their students at the LM school soon. Other bus route plans will be announced shortly.

Update: At this time, the roads out of Pocahontas have been closed again due to being unsafe. In our continued work with law enforcement, they advise that everyone stay put where they are at the current time. We will hold your students here at school until further notice. Parents, please take note, the weather conditions are not safe for travel.

PAC Parents: Please come and pick up your child/children from school if you live in the City Limits of Pocahontas. Thank you!! We are feeding students supper here at school and are still holding in place for the time being. You can be assured your students are supervised, safe, and secure here at school!!

CHANGE IN PLANS!! Our advice from law enforcement is to hold our students and not to run our buses. If parents would like to pick up their children they may do so at their own risk. Law enforcement does not feel comfortable with us sending our buses out at this time. We apologize for the sudden change and appreciate your patience with our efforts to keep students safe.

PAC will be dismissing students at approximately 4:45 PM. Bus routes will run as usual. Our goal is to get students home safely and we appreciate your patience with our drivers. We are so thankful to all of our partners during this weather challenge, we are truly PAC Strong!!

Hello PAC families, we wanted to give you an update on the situation with your students. We are staying at school until it is safe to dismiss. We don’t know how long that will be but we are keeping students safe in the buildings. If you want your student to leave sooner than that, you are free to come get them at your own risk. We are also not allowing HS or MS students to leave in their own vehicles at this time. We do not have a timeline on when things will change, but we will do our best to keep you updated and informed. Our students' safety is our top priority.

All roads in and out of Pocahontas are currently closed. We will hold all PAC students in place until further notice.

Our 1st graders have been working hard learning about Christmas around the world! 🌍🎄 Today, they proudly shared what they learned while showing off their reading and writing skills and spreading holiday cheer through song. We are so proud of their hard work! 🎶
